Straight Outta Cabo: Best Margarita Recipes

Despite what you may think, the best margarita recipes don’t come from Pinterest – they come from Mexico.

With end-of-summer parties in full swing, you may need some expert advice on how to craft mouth-watering margaritas that’ll bring out your inner fiesta. Luckily, we have an entire team of margarita experts that are straight outta Cabo. We asked our Sirena del Mar by Welk Resorts Cabo team to divulge some of their juicy margarita secrets for us to use whenever the thirst strikes, and they did not disappoint!

But before we dive into the best margarita recipes ever, our team has an easy tip that can take your concoctions from good to “OMG, pour me another!”

Tip: Try using infused liquor with fresh, organic ingredients.

Some examples include:

  • Vodka infused with rosemary

  • Gin infused with ginger

  • Tequila infused with pineapple

  • Mezcal infused with cinnamon

The possibilities are endless when it comes to infusion and can quickly elevate your party to fiesta level with unique signature drinks. Definitely give it a try if you have time. Or, you can attend our Mexican Mixology Class at Sirena del Mar to sample our home-made infusions. You can also pick up a bottle of our exclusive Sirena del Mar tequila

Now, without further ado, if you’re looking for the best margaritas that are refreshing, authentic, and bursting with flavor, give one (or all) of these a try…

THE CADILLAC

When it comes to high-quality margaritas, you need to trust our mixology experts. As the adult beverage gurus in Mexico, they told us this is called the "Cadillac" of margaritas because there is no skimping on any of the ingredients.

Emmanuel (“Manny”), our Welk Resorts Cabo Activities Manager, went on to explain:

“If you want to pull off the proper Cadillac Margarita, you'll need to go to the top shelf for your tequila and make sure it's a well-aged reposado.”

Reposado means the tequila has been aged in oak for a period of two to twelve months. The spirit will take on a golden hue and the taste becomes a good mixture of Agave and wood flavors.

“You'll also need to skip the white orange liqueurs. Instead, this one deserves the cognac-based Grand Marnier. The next tip is to go with fresh-squeezed lime juice.”

  • Ice
