When it comes to high-quality margaritas, you need to trust our mixology experts. As the adult beverage gurus in Mexico, they told us this is called the “Cadillac” of margaritas because there is no skimping on any of the ingredients.

Emmanuel (“Manny”), our Welk Resorts Cabo Activities Manager, went on to explain:

“If you want to pull off the proper Cadillac Margarita, you’ll need to go to the top shelf for your tequila and make sure it’s a well-aged reposado.”

Reposado means the tequila has been aged in oak for a period of two to twelve months. The spirit will take on a golden hue and the taste becomes a good mixture of Agave and wood flavors.

“You’ll also need to skip the white orange liqueurs. Instead, this one deserves the cognac-based Grand Marnier. The next tip is to go with fresh-squeezed lime juice.”

In a shaker glass topped with ice, pour 2 ounces of Tequila Reposado and add the fresh-squeezed lime juice. Shake for about 10 seconds then serve in a margarita glass rimmed with salt. Next, pour the Grand Marnier in at the very end and garnish with a lime slice.
