The Power of Philanthropy

Harmony Project uses the power of music to engage kids ages 5-18 in underserved communities and retains them throughout their childhood so that they receive the support and guidance needed to graduate from high school and continue to college. Students participate in year-round after school music classes and weekend ensemble rehearsals with professional musician mentors – times when children are most likely to engage in risky or violent behavior.

In a community with a 50% high school dropout rate, 93% of HP students graduate from high school and go on to college. HP also provides parent education, social support services and links families to additional resources they may need through their on-staff Family Liaison.

Harmony Project’s mission includes the following:

GROWTH: to promote the healthy growth and development of children through the study, practice and perfomance of music.

COMMUNITY: To build healthier communities by investing in the positive development of children through music.

CONNECTION: To develop children as musical ambassadors of peace, hope, and understanding amongst people of diverse cultures, backgrounds and beliefs.
